In Between Class 1 and Class 2...
I had a chance to view some AT videos recommended by my colleagues last class.
Here are two that I liked best.
This video provides an overview of what Assistive Technology is all about. It shows quick shots of many different students using technology to enhance their learning.
This video provides a simple explanation of Assistive Technology and gives links to help people find assistive technology.
Here is the class list of youtube links to AT videos.

Viewing these videos has helped me to understand that AT can be as simple as a pencil grip or as complex as a mounted device with multiple apps. The idea that is really standing out to me right now is that AT is highly personal and individual and that what works for one person may not work for another person with similar needs.
Thanks for posting the "AT Assessment" link at the right side of your blog. It reminds us that no one is an expert and a concerted effort is required as we seek AT services and devices for individuals.
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry! Thank you for commenting:-) I noticed that the second link is not working so will fix that. I'm looking forward to working with you as we journey through the course.
